Do you know a parrot that talks or sings? Tell us about it!
Fill out our two scientific research surveys on parrot vocal learning:
What Does Polly Say?
This project examines how many words and phrases different species of parrots can learn. It asks whether parrot vocal repertoires vary by sex, age, and social environment. You can contribute by taking a survey to tell us how many human words, phrases, and mimicry sounds your parrot has in its vocabulary.
This project uses recordings of birds singing, whistling and speaking to study what sounds parrots are capable of producing. How well can they pronounce human words? Do they have elements of musicality? You can contribute by uploading audio clips of your parrot and its learning source to the survey linked below.
